Author Kwasi Acheampong will discuss his new book, Across the Atlantic: A Boy's Journey from Ghana to America.

This is a profound narrative that goes beyond mere migration; it tells a story of sacrifice, tragedy, resilience, identity, and transformation. It follows a young boy from Ghana who, along with his family of ten, leaves behind his familiar surroundings to embark on a new life in America. Through his perspective, readers witness the challenges of adapting to a foreign culture, navigating cultural clashes, and the strength that arises when family bonds are tested.

Family curses, abandonment, and severed ties are intertwined within this powerful story of hope in the American dream. Inspired by the struggles of generations of immigrants, this book captures universal themes of hope, survival, and the search for belonging.

Kwasi Acheampong was born in Ghana, West Africa and moved to the United States of America at the age of 10. His journey, shaped by the challenges and opportunities of immigration, deeply influences his storytelling and fuels his commitment to empowering others.

Kwasi is the founder of Our Bright Future, a STEAM-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing innovative programs such as Robotics, 3D Printing, Bioscience, Cricut Club, and sports to local students.
